How we choose
We don't run a test kitchen, and we never claim to have tested products ourselves. Each guide is built from three things:
- Manufacturer specifications: capacity, settings, warranty and parts availability.
- Independent reviews from publications that test products themselves, such as Wirecutter, America's Test Kitchen, Consumer Reports, Which?, WIRED and Serious Eats.
- Agreement between sources: we favour products that more than one independent tester rates highly.
Every guide links to its sources and shows the date we last checked them. When a source updates its picks, we update ours.
